Using the multi input drone system system in the military environment

Squad Level Tactics – Use Cases

  • The drone system design we are creating is extremely user friendly. US military will be able to review a pre-programmed set of commands that shall assist in the acquisition of intel.

  • The intent is to give squad and platoon size elements the ability to command a drone, mounted with some sort of payload that could range from a basic camera with a video feed to infrared, night vision, and motion detection capability, with minimal interference to the user’s ability to move and react to their immediate surroundings.

  •  The MCDS will give the user the capability to command a drone via hand and voice commands without having to hold a controller in two hands while remaining relatively stationary.

  • The drone  can be pre-programmed to be controlled using the basic hand and arm signals that are currently being used by US forces.

    Convoy Tactics – Use Cases

  • One possible implementation, for further down the road, is to have multiple drones attached to military convoys. Currently, most military convoys use a system called VOSS. It is large, bulky, and requires a convoy to move at a rate of march of 5 Km an hour. However, the VOSS system uses infrared to detect IED’s under the ground and night vision to give our troops an advantage of an extra layer of security.

  • With the ability to carry a payload, our drone would have pre-programmed commands to fly with, circle, or hover over a convoy. A convoy carries enough hardware and software to be allowed access to the drone's programming. A program would be developed to allow the convoy to expand upon the pre-programmed commands and give them access to adjust their needs to assist in mission accomplishment.
